Our Story

Founded in November 2023, Kurantaka started with a simple curiosity: what if Indonesian craft could be part of our everyday wardrobe? We have always loved the beauty of Indonesian textiles, especially batik. Therefore, we wanted to see them beyond the occasions they are usually associated with. So we began exploring how batik techniques, patterns, and craftsmanship could meet the way we dress and live today.

From working with local artisans to experimenting with techniques like our Paper Hand-Stamp, we look for ways to celebrate Indonesian craftsmanship without making it feel distant or untouchable. We want craft to be worn, lived in, and become part of your everyday. Because we believe tradition can stay true to itself while still finding a new way forward.
